Someone has asked me to do another commission. The request is for 27 Chaos & Chaos Dwarf players to a basic table top standard. So I’ll be going with some speed painting techniques to get these done nice and quick, but looking good.
The first step is a basecoat in black and then an azimuth highlight with white; you can see all the miniatures (and a bonus one) in this picture below.
I started with the Chaos Dwarves. I was asked to do a Black/Green scheme. I started from the above by taking the few flesh parts you can see and painting them with the colours below. I then used the airbrush to add the grey as a thin layer. After that is was pretty much just careful brush work with a few washes and highlights picked out. Being mostly armour, these guys are pretty straight forward. However, they’re time consuming with all that trim on their armour.

Basing for these guys is really straight forward: it’s just Woodland Scenics’ Green Grass Fine Turf (T45) onto PVA. The rim is lightened black (75% black and 25% Black grey), as I’m starting to find pure black really stands out when it’s rimmed on the base.
These guys are the simplest within the team; lots of armour. It’s just the trim that took quite a while with them. Next up are the Hobgoblins.
