There’s been a little Batman progress over the last few days. The impending PAX deadline (end of October) has brought these guys to the front of the queue. Where better to start than a BFF for Batman?
I went for a fairly standard look for Commissioner Gordon: charcoal suit, light blue shirt, blue tie and a brown overcoat.
The following colours were used.
Shirt:
- Base: Sky Blue (VMC 70.961) & Pastel Blue (VMC 70.901) & White (VMC 70.951) – 1:1:1
- Shadow: Pastel Blue (VMC 70.901)
- Highlight I: White (VMC 70.951)
Pants:
- Base: Black Grey (VMC 70.862)
- Wash: NATO Camouflages Wash (A.MIG-1008)
- Highlight I: Luftwaffe Uniform Grey (VMC 70.816)
- Highlight II: Sky Grey (VMC 70.989)
Coat:
- Base: Beige Brown (VMC 79.875)
- Wash: Tracks Wash (A.MIG-1002)
- Highlight I: German Camouflage Medium Brown (VMC 70.826)
- Highlight II: German Camouflage Pale Brown (VMC 70.825)
- Highlight III: Brown Sand (VMC 70.876)
Flesh:
- Base: Brown Sand (VMC 70.876)
- Wash: Tracks Wash (A.MIG-1002) heavily diluted
- Highlight: Dark Flesh (VMC 70.927)
Hair:
- Base: German Camouflage Black Brown (VMC 70.921)
- Highlight I: Beige Brown (VMC 70.875)
- Highlight II: Sky Grey (VMC 70.989) – very light and patchy
Glasses:
- Bright: White (VMC 70.951)
- Light-Mid: Sky Grey (VMC 70.989)
- Mid-Tone: Medium Sea Grey (VMC 70.870)
- Dark-Mid: London Grey (VMC 70.836)
- Dark: Black Grey (VMC 70.862)
The only thing I’d think I would change is to darken the glasses – they’re a bit like beacons at the moment. This should be too tough though – some dark pigment powder or a wash will tone it down.
