July 2024 Recap

As usual there was a large variety of games played the the Monday Knights during July. The highlight was our Battletech tournament.

Ten competitors gathered on Saturday 22nd of July for the Monday Knights annual Battletech Auction Tournament. Each participant was given 100,000,000 C-Bills to bid on a mix of 4th Succession Wars era Mechs. Since the full list of Mechs on offer was only known to the tournament organiser, there was fierce bidding from start to finish as everyone was desperate to attain anything deemed worthwhile, or just plain cheap!

With the bidding over, three rounds of objective based games were played. Plenty of trophies were won, including the first competitor to destroy a Mech, the first to lose a Mech, and the most headshots received.

During our regular gaming sessions, the Necromunda and Frostgrave campaigns continued. Conquest also saw plenty of action as some of our members were practicing for an upcoming tournament.

Other games played included Space Gitz, Deth Wizards, Glory Is Fleeting, Alpha Strike, Saga, and Gorka Morka.

Crudboy's initiation into war gaming was with Battletech way back in high school, where he spent more time creating 'mechs with his friends, and not nearly enough time actually playing the game. Since then, Crudboy has dabbled in so many different tabletop games that he no longer remembers which rule goes with which game. His latest loves include, but aren't confined to, Frostgrave, Gloomhaven, and Gaslands.
